Farewell to a Fire Service Legend
Today, Ladder-17 and Good Will Fire Company's Ladder-18 set up at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery to say farewell to Joseph Hojnicki Sr, a Chief and President Emeritus at Minquadale Fire Company. Garage Fire with Extension
Around 2:10am on 3/19/15, Five Points was alerted to assist Mill Creek Fire Company on a garage on fire with extension to the house on Merrimor Court. Engine 17-5 responded with a crew of five. Upon arrival Engine 17-5 hooked up to a hydrant a couple blocks down from the scene to boost water pressure. Ladder and Engine Assist Minquas
Around 6:30pm, on March 16, Five Points was alerted to assist Minquas Fire Company on a residential fire (burning odor in residence) on the 100 block of Harding Avenue Newport, DE. House Fire with Reported Victims Trapped
Around 7:30 this morning, Five Points was alerted to assist Mill Creek Fire Company on a residential fire with two victims trapped on Stanton Road. Responding Five Points' units were A-17, Ladder-17 with a crew of seven, and Engine 17-5 with a crew of four. Two adult victims were removed from the residence, and transported with non-life threatening injuries. Snow Duty Crew
Today, volunteers have staffed fire apparatus as apart of a snow duty crew. The point of the snow duty crew is to improve our response time and provide quality service to our community in the snow.
